I reviewed the reverse colorway of these a couple of times on this blog already. I guess it was only a matter of time before the Nike Air Max 90 Infrared came out to play.
This colorway has been retro’d a few times and is synonymous with the model in most people’s eyes. This happens to be the 2010 retro, and there have been re-releases of this colorway multiple times both before and after.
I think going with black, grey and white in a mix is the best possible combination for this shoe. Oddly enough, adding in blue to your outfit can work better than red, pink or orange. Too much in the infrared shade spectrum in your outfit and it’s a harsh overmatch. If you must add infrared to the rest of your fit, do it in minor accents only.
If there’s one colorway of AM90 a sneaker collector should own, it’s probably this one. It is the true classic heavyhitter of the AM90 line. If you are into runners, definitely try and pick up a pair of Infrared 90s for the collection!
How Are The Materials?
The suede, leather and mesh materials on the 2010 Air Max 90 Infrared are decent, but not amazing.
I almost want to say the suede is better on some newer pairs of AM90s, but the difference is negligible. Overall we get decent enough quality to make them passable. Also the combination of materials and material blocking on is tough to beat on any other colorway.
How Do They Fit?
The Nike Air Max 90 Infrared fits true to size and is very comfortable.
Just like any other Air Max 90, the Air unit provides solid cushioning and the shoe is still relatively lightweight considering this retro is 6 years old at this point. The shape of the shoe was totally blocky when I first got it, but a couple of rounds of gentle reshaping have made these good to go!
